Marjorie M. Johnson, age 99 of Ft. Worth Texas, formerly of Higginsville, Missouri, died on Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Born Tuesday, December 28, 1915 in Holstein, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Edward Henry Goettsch and the late Anna Marie (Drews) Goettsch. She and Earl August Johnson were united in marriage July 1, 1939. He preceded her in death October 23, 1983. Also preceding in death are one son, Thomas Earl Johnson; one brother, Earl Edward Goettsch; three sisters, Florine Flora Schroeder, Bernita Beatrice Goettsch , Alberta Ann Goetsch, and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Higginsville, moving to Higginsville From Chanute, Kansas in 1963. She then moved to Ft. Worth in 2014. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Higginsville Habilitation Center until her retirement .
Surviving are son, Donald L. Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; four daughters, Doris Ann Crume of Arkansas Pass, Texas, Paula Jean (Chris) Corrie of Louisville, Kentucky, Barbara Jane Johnson of North Charleston, South Carolina, Patricia Louise Johnson( husband Eddie Siegmund) of Fort Worth, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church, 16 W. 15th St. Higginsville with the Rev. Terry Cook officiating and Sharon Pragman as organist. Interment will be in the Higginsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tom Laughlin, Chris Corrie, Vernon Jones and Michael Smith.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
