Mark B. Chambers, 89, of Tampa passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2018.
Mark was born in Lakeland and graduated from Lakeland high school. He went to college and graduated from University of Florida Mark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After getting out of the service he worked as a mechanical engineer. After retiring from engineering, he started his own business of Handy Man service contractor. He was a charter member and song leader of the Manhattan Avenue Church of Christ and he and his wife Dottie were the first marriage in the church in 1964. Mark and Dottie were married for 53 years and raised 5 children. He volunteered his skills and time to the Weeki Wachee Christian Camp and even served as band booster at Robinson High School for several years. Mark loved the outdoors and passed that love onto his children. He loved to go camping, fishing, and shrimping. His favorite hobby was sailing. He loved being out on the water with the wind filling his sails.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dottie Chambers and daughter, Laura Chambers. Mark is survived by his children, Kevin Chambers, Lisa Muiselaar, Janice Chambers-Maple, Kathy (Marc) Metz; grandchildren, Nicole (Albert) Valencia, Amy (Michael) Knight, Angel (Robert) DiGiorgio, Ariel (Jordan) Jones, Jared Muiselaar, Laura and Emily Metz; 9 great grandchildren, Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22nd from 5-7 at Blount Curry Macdill, 605 S. Macdill Ave Tampa. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 23rd at 11am at Blount Curry Macdill followed by interment at Seffner Cemetery in Seffner, FL.
