Marley "Bud" Johnson, age 73 of Ferry, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1942 in Muskegon to Albert and Edna (Kidner) Johnson. Bud was a graduate of Shelby High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Jannet Frees on June 14, 1963. Jannet passed away in September, 1986. Bud retired from Johnson Technology, now GE Aviation. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, and was close to his siblings. In his younger years, he enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagles. He also enjoyed watching old western movies, driving around the countryside, and sitting under a shade tree drinking a cold beer. He is survived by his current wife of 15 years, Charlotte; daughters, Sherri Murphy and Susan Johnson; step-children, Edward Smith, Roger Smith, Tami Lilly, Kasandra Powlenko, and Michael Midkiff; grandchildren, Dennis, Rachel and Matthew Murphy; brother, Richard Johnson; sister, Judith White; and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 1 P.M. with a service to follow at 2 P.M. at the Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the family for expenses.
