On May 1, 2017, Marlyn Harriet Meeker, made her final journey home to be with our Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles F. Meeker, Jr., their four sons: Steven (Shanna) Meeker of Oneonta, NY; Richard (Sharon) Meeker of Burgaw, NC; Michael (Diane) Meeker of Windsor, NY and Gregory Meeker of Wallace, NC. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Jayson Meeker (Oregon) and Joshua Meeker (Florida), Chad Meeker (N. Carolina), Heather Meeker (Pennsylvania) and Michael Meeker (New York), Nichole Meeker and Justin Meeker (both N. Carolina), 11 Great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Marlyn Harriet (Miller) Meeker was born January 22, 1931 to Wilbur and Florence Miller in Oneonta, NY. She graduated from Charlotte Valley Central School in Davenport, NY. On May 5, 1951, she married Charles F. Meeker, Jr. and resided in Prattsville, NY for 64 years. Together they raised their four sons with love-- bringing them up with strong Christian values. During this time she also owned/worked in a cleaning business in Windham, NY, worked in a factory in Durham, NY and taught Sunday School at her home town church, Prattsville Community Church (AKA Prattsville U.M. Church). She and her husband also attended Huntersfield Christian Center in Huntersfield, NY, where they worshiped and made new friends for a season.

During her later years, Marlyn enjoyed traveling, camping, eating out and working in her flower gardens. She loved to sing spiritual hymns praising God. She has left her family with many cherished memories on her life's journey. During her last few days, she was surrounded by her family.

Marlyn was predeceased by her sister, Shirley (Miller) Harper of Davenport, NY and her brother, Richard Miller of Oneonta, NY.

A graveside service will be held at a later date, as she requested.

Expressions of sympathy can be sent to Charles Meeker, c/o Oneonta Nursing and Rehab Center, 330 Chestnut St., Oneonta, NY.
