Marshall Rankin Jeffress Jr., 87





Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Centerpoint Hospital. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Marshall and Bertha Jeffress on March 26, 1929.



Marshall was a life-long Kansas City resident, veteran of the Korean War and worked most of his life as an automotive mechanic, retiring from the Missouri Highway Department in 1996. A quiet, kind, gentle and compassionate man, he loved spending time with family, taking care of his cats, watching westerns, reading American history, and was a passionate model airplane builder and flyer.



He is survived by wife, Karen Moxley Jeffress, two sons Marshall R. Jeffress III of Denver, Colorado, and Dwight Jeffress, of Greenwood, Missouri as well as seven grand-children; Daniel, Sara, Zaida, Isabella, Paul, Jacob and Sylvia.



The family will hold a visitation with service to follow on Saturday February 18, 2017 from 1:00pm till 2:00pm at the Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City Missouri, 64133.



Marshall and Karen and their sons were lifelong lovers and caretakers of their pets, including their family of cats and dogs, many of whom were rescues, including Goliath, Herbie, Switch, Georgie, Gracie, Maddie, Baby, Punkin, Jojo and Rhodey. As such, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Denver Dumb Friends League, 2080 S. Quebec St. Denver, Colorado 80231. Gifts may also be made to the City Union Mission in Kansas City.
