Martha A. Travis, age 85, of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She had been confined to Northside Medical Health Center since February after a fall she received at her home. Martha worked at Buchanan & Tarpley Drug Store (also known as Moudy's Drug) for over 26 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Isabelle Dockery and her husband of 38 years, Jesse E. Travis. She was one of 10 children and is survived by her baby brother Wiley Dockery, age 84, who has been living with her for the past 9 years. She is also survived by her only daughter Peggy (Arnold) Gaston and husband Corky Gaston of Stillwater, OK, her granddaughter Kim Bowersox of Fountain, CO, grandson Robin Bowersox of Dallas, TX, great-grandsons, Corey and Danny Salka, grand daughter, Aimee Salka of Santa Paula, CA, step-grandson Christopher Gaston and wife Angel of N. Ridgeville, OH, Anthony Gaston of Santa Maria, CA, step greatgrandsons Christopher and Colin Gaston and step granddaughters Ava and Alayna Gaston of N. Ridgeville, OH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and her care giver of the past year Ellen Gilbert of Murfreesboro. She was loved and will be missed by all.

A graveside service for Mrs. Travis will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Averitt officiating. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.
