Marvin Eugene Vroom, age 64, of Elmer, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in La Plata

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Rhodes Funeral Home with Reverend Ron McPherson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Laclede Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, August 14, 2017 at Rhodes Funeral Home. Memorials have been suggested to the family in care of Tonja Vroom, and may be left at or sent to the funeral home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. On-line registry at www.rhodesfh.com

Marvin Eugene, son of Robert Lee Vroom and Mary Alice (Stroud) Vroom, was born on September 28, 1952 in Brookfield. Marvin was an avid outdoorsman. He spent many years working in the lumber industry and enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting.

He is survived by his children, Tonja Vroom, and significant other, Jason Jacobs, MO; Shelly Maddy and husband Matthew, TX; and James Lee Vroom, IN; his mother, Mary Mrak, IN; two brothers, Steve Vroom and wife Debbie, MO; and Mike Vroom and wife Melissa, MO; two sisters, Sharon Kissinger, and husband Bob, IN; and Betty Gilbert and husband Bob; IN; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces nephews and other relatives.

Marvin was preceded in death by, his father, Robert Lee Vroom; one brother, James Lee Vroom; and his father Joseph Mrak
