FINK, Marvin L (Age 84)

Marvin Fink passed away peacefully on December 7, 2016 at the age of 84.

Born in Odessa, Washington to Reuben and Elizabeth Fink on April 27, 1932, Marvin was a lifelong resident of Odessa and active member of the community throughout his years. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1950, and married the love of his life Marilyn Salo in 1952. Marvin served his country proudly during the Korean War as a member of the US Army, where he courageously fought on the front lines and earned two bronze service stars. After his military service was completed, Marvin made his living working the land as a farmer and an orchardist. He was a dedicated member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Odessa Lions Club. He also served as Lincoln County Commissioner from 1977-1984.

Marvin's greatest joy was spending time with family. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, leaving a lasting legacy of love and devotion. He also enjoyed coffee klatch, salmon fishing, gardening, the Holiday Rambler trailer group, golfing and playing bridge. He will forever be remembered as a man of strong character, integrity, conviction, and faith.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 64 years: Marilyn, two daughters: MaryBeth (Jerry) Mitchell, Diane (Kim) Floyd and one son: Neil (Lecia) Fink. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Laura, Kristen, Ben, Will, Brian and Sara and seven great-grandchildren as well as two brothers: Alvin and Maurice Fink.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter: Megan Fink and one sister: Marciel Morse.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Odessa Healthcare Foundation or Higher Ground Wounded Warrior Project.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held Christ Lutheran Church on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00AM with Pastor Jerry Malone, officiating. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA, is in charge of arrangements.
