Mary A. Frasher, 85, of Marengo passed away February 4, 2017 at her home.
She was born June 15, 1931 in Chicago to Henry and Delia (O'Neal) McTigue. On October 28, 1950 she married Harold L. Frasher.
While living in Chicago Mary worked as a dental assistant. She then changed focus and worked at Motorola for a short time before ultimately working at Jewel Tea Company, first in Palatine and then at other stores. Mary worked there for many years prior to her retirement.
Mary was very active with her church community at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo. She enjoyed bowling every Tuesday and playing cards with friends. She also liked to frequent the casino to play the penny slots on occasion. Mary also loved to travel. More than anything, she loved her family and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Harold L. Frasher Jr., Henry (Deborah) Frasher, Mary (Robert) Todd, Linda (Cesar) Aviles, and Jeffrey (Susan) Frasher; her grandchildren, Hank Frasher, John (Sarah) Frasher, Jennifer Todd, Carrie Todd, Suzanne (Nicholas) Jepson, Kristen (Justin) Martinez, Belinda (Steven) Hardy, Amanda (Bryan) Powell, Amy Frasher, Katie Frasher, Emily Frasher; and her great-grandchildren, Anna, Tristan, Michaela, Kendall, James, Thomas, Paige, Alexander, Azalea, Kaleb, Noah, Grayson, Benjamin, and Adam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Hank (Anne) McTigue and Jack (Lorraine) McTigue, her husband, Harold L. Frasher Sr., and her close relatives, Bud (Marge) Forge.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9pm on Wednesday, February 8 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, February 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
