On Monday, July 3rd, Mary Ann Schneider Krueger, of River Bend, passed away at the age of 90 years, just one day shy of her 91st birthday.

Daughter of the late John and Mary Schwartz Schneider, Mary Ann was born on Independence Day 1926 in Chicago, Illinois. In Evanston, IL, she met and married the love of her life, Ralph Krueger, and together they enjoyed many adventures together, including being the parents to their four beloved children. As a good wife and a devoted mother, Mary Ann supported her family in every way that she could, even volunteering as a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader.

She earned her Nursing degree and began a long and successful career of caring for others as a Registered Nurse, eventually retiring from Mercy Center Hospital as the Director of In-Service Education. Mary Ann was also the Founder / CEO of CPR Specialties, Etc. She and Ralph loved to sail and were members of the Columbia Yacht Club in Chicago, as well as the Blackbeard Sailing Club in New Bern, NC.

Their love for the water and for sailing drew them to New Bern, North Carolina, where they enjoyed many happy years of retirement. Her life was enriched greatly through the fellowship she found amongst her church family at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and she loved singing in the choir there as well. Mary Ann made a positive impact on the lives of her family, friends and all who knew her . she will be remembered with love by all who knew her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Ralph Krueger, her husband of 64 years; as well as her four children, Ralph Krueger, Charles Krueger (Belinda), John Krueger, and Barbara Conrad (Bruce); one granddaughter, Alexandra Sissulak (John); and her beloved adopted dog, "Willie."

A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 16th at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (New Bern, NC) to celebrate Mary Ann's life and to give thanks to God for the many ways that she has touched our lives.
