Mary Ann (Driscoll) Smith, 83, a resident of Keene, NH, passed away peacefully at the Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, NH on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, following a period of declining health.

She was born March 12, 1933 in Keene, NH the daughter of Lucille (Larmay) and Francis J. Driscoll, Sr. She attended St. Joseph's School and was a 1951 graduate of Keene High School. On November 12, 1951 she married the love of her life: Raymond V. Smith at St. Bernard's Church in Keene.

She and her husband were married for 32 years, until his passing in 1983. They had lived for most of their married life in Boston. After his passing she moved back to Keene to be closer to her large family. While in Boston she worked for Sears & Roebuck Co. She worked for several years for Peerless Insurance Company and then for Rich's Department Store in Keene.

She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Bernard's Church. Her faith was very important to her. She had a very outgoing personality and enjoyed being active with local organizations, such as: Ladies of St. Anne, Red Hat Society, Granite State Doll Club and Old Homestead Garden Club. She was also a past City of Keene Election Official.

She had various hobbies: sewing, knitting, gardening, flower arranging and doll collecting. She LOVED her Boston Red Sox and was a season ticket holder for the Boston Pops. She loved her trademark red hair and big hats.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law: Anne Driscoll and Caroline Driscoll of Keene, brothers- in-law and sister-in-law: Wesley Smith of Summerfield, FL and Floyd Smith and wife Janet of Lady Lake, FL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were very special to her: Michael Driscoll, Lucinda McKeon, Janette Driscoll, Patricia Lewandowski, Holly Lamoureux, Peter Driscoll, Jennifer Pellerin, Richard Driscoll, Diane Caruso, John Driscoll, Laurie Boes, Manning Driscoll, Brian Smith, Mark Smith, Andrea Lewis, Kelly Corell and Jennifer Smith-Dakin. She is also survived by numerous great and great great nieces and nephews and extended family members. She is predeceased by her brothers Francis J. Driscoll, Jr, Joseph Driscoll and Lawrence Driscoll, her sister Linda Driscoll, and niece Diane "DiDi" Boettcher.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Langdon Place of Keene for the excellent care she received while residing there for the past two years. Even when she had her "Irish Up"

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary's, Arch Street Keene on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11am. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on the family on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 4 to 6pm, at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH.
