Grant, Mary C., (nee: Powers) of O'Fallon, MO, died on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the age of 80. Loving wife of Richard L. Grant; beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine Powers; devoted mother of the late Michelle Lynn Hussey, Sharon (Mike) Newton and Diane (Jeff) Orcino; cherished grandmother of Jason (Jenny Clark) Hussey, Sarah (Francis) Gadiane, Stephanie Hussey, Matt (Chrissy) Orcino, Nick (Janice Rooney) Orcino, Madison (Lucas Jordan) Newton, and Cody Newton; treasured great-grandmother of Skyler Hussey, Allison, Andrew, Emma, and Michael Clark, a baby boy on the way to be named Gregory Gadiane, Shaelynn Gardner, Mallarie and Briana Orcino, and Jack and Brady Rooney; and dear sister of Eileen Lane, the late Shirley Knabel, and the late Donald Powers. Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

After raising her daughters, Mary worked as a Sales Clerk for Kimball's Printing in Florissant, MO for 10 years, and then worked for another 10 years as a Sales Clerk at Gateway Cash Register. Throughout her life, Mary served her community as a Girl Scout troop leader, a volunteer usher for the Fox Theater, and an active member of DePaul Auxiliary. She also enjoyed bowling, playing volleyball, camping, boating, and shopping. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Mary will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, her great sense of humor, and her exuberant personality and she will be greatly missed.

Mary struggled with COPD and other Pulmonary issues for quite some time, her family would like to offer a special thanks to the wonderful staff of BJC Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Women's Second Chance of St. Louis, a charity that was near and dear to Mary's heart.
