Mary W. Devera, 78, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2018, at Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic Church, 2210 North Elm Street. Monsignor Anthony Marcaccio will be officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Simmons Parish Center.

Mary was born July born28, 1939, in Washington D.C., daughter of the late Davis Hope and Virginia Frances Wilson. She loved animals, showing horses and training dogs throughout her life and was an active member of the American, North Carolina , and various other Kennel Clubs in the 1970's/80's (Sweet Hope Goldens). She ran a dog obedience school (Carolina Obedience School) from their home for several years. She was an active member of The National Society of the Washington Family Descendants and Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Devera was preceded in death by her husband John Devera; grandson, Joseph Hockett and brother, Cliff Wilson. She is survived by her children, Chris Devera and wife, Oana of Blowing Rock, Jennifer Faith Devera Alba of Apex, David Michael Wesley Devera of San Antonio; grandchildren, Luca Devera, Cameron Alba, Christian Alba, Demetrius Devera and sister, Fran Brown of Clifton Forge, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic Church, 2210 North Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27408.
