Catherine F. Domozych Schwaab

On November 6, 2017, Mary Catherine Domozych (ne Domozych), age 97, died peacefully at Harrison House Senior Living in Georgetown, DE. She had resided in Delaware since 2012, prior to that in Orlando, FL, for 30 years & Tucson, AZ, for 7 years. Mary was born in Jersey City, NJ, to Anthony Domozych() and Margaret E. Domozych() (ne Wojciechowski), the youngest of seven children, Sister M. Pasqueline Domozych(), Anthony R. Domozych(), Stanley P. Domozych(), Rev. Fr. Joseph A. Domozych(), Walter Domozych() and Sister M. Jeremiah Domozych of Lodi, NJ.

She was much loved and doted upon by her family. From her earlier teens and throughout most of her life, she became the family care giver, especially to her brother, Walter, father and mother, and brother, Fr. Joe. Upon graduation from high school, she worked as a receptionist in a doctor's office, then as a telephone operator in New York City, and later as a church rectory housekeeper. On May 28, 1949, she was married to a distant cousin, Stanley Matthew Domozych() of Scranton, PA, at St. Anthony R. C. Church in Jersey City, NJ, by her brother, Fr. Joe. Her husband passed on March 28, 1963. They had no children but she continued caring and loving her family as each generation came along.

She owned a home in Silver Beach, Lavallette, NJ, her family's favorite summer vacation destination. She traveled with her siblings to Europe and Hawaii, and cruised the Caribbean, always with camera in hand. She also loved telling or hearing family and funny stories or jokes, playing cards and games.

A devote Catholic, she is now with her family, as well as sisters-in-law, Helen N. Domozych() (ne Legowski) and Helen C. Domozych() (ne Nowicki), nieces, Florence H. Witkowski() (ne Domozych) and her husband, Charles S. Witkowski() and Catherine M. Domozych()(ne Mc Grantham), grand nephew, Robert C. Witkowski() and great grand nephew, Kevin Witkowski() in heaven. Mary is survived by her loving sister, Sister M. Jeremiah Domozych, nephew, Anthony T. Domozych and his wife, Helen J. Domozych of Millsboro, DE, 8 grand nieces and nephews, Catherine F. Domozych Schwaab and husband, Robert, Elizabeth A. Domozych, Diana Domozych Gaither and husband, Kevin, Anthony M. Domozych and wife, Susan, of Baltimore, Maryland, Kenneth Witkowski, of Hardyston Township, NJ, Elaine Witkowski Rutigliano and husband, Joseph, of Wood-Ridge, NJ, Thomas Witkowski and husband, Mark Davila-Witkowski, of Arlington, MA, James Witkowski and wife, Bobbie, of Midland Park, NJ, 14 great-grand nieces and nephews, Joseph J. Schwaab and fiancee, Stephanie , Edward B. Schwaab and wife, Kaitlin, Nicholas R. Schwaab and wife, Michelle, Rebecca Gaither, Peter Gaither, Elena Domozych, Beth-Ann Witkowski and husband, Jason Dorfman, Joseph Rutigliano, Melissa Rutigliano and partner, Blake Rutherford, Lisa Rutigliano and partner, Joseph Vitkovsky, Nicholas Rutigliano, Alexandra Davila-Witkowski, Aminta Witkowski, Shelby Witkowski and 3 great-great grand nieces and a nephew, Hailey, Sophia, Lucas and Juniper.

A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Felician Sisters Chapel, Lodi, NJ, on Friday, November 10. Internment at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Gotha FL.
