Mary Frances McCord lifelong resident of Gadsden passed away on Saturday morning, April 22, 2017. Frances was born on March 23, 1927 in Houston, Texas.
She was an active member of 1st Baptist Church of Gadsden. Before retirement she was a member of the Altrusa Club, a board member of Baptist Memorial Hospital, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army and participated in countless civic activities.
Clyde and Frances founded McCord Radio and TV Service in 1947. The company was later known as McCord Communications Inc.
She was preceded in death by husband Clyde McCord and her longtime friend and companion Frank Aderholt, father Frank Rampey, mother Helen Jarrett, brothers Bill Rampey and Richard Rampey (Diana).
She is survived by sons Mike McCord (Kelly) and David McCord (Karen). Grandchildren Tim McCord (Wendee), Jessica George (Chris), Mathew McCord (Emma), Lucas McCord (Christa) Graham Lewis (Lauren) and Savannah Hawkins (Tyler). Nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday April 24, 2017 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. The viewing will begin at 1:30 followed by the funeral service at 3:30.
