Helen Burrow passed away February 11, 2017 in Avon, IN. A graveside burial service is planned for March 9, 2017 at 2 PM at the Old Concordia Cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Helen Burrow was born on July 9, 1919 to Theodore and Esther Mertz in Fort Wayne, IN. She graduated from Fort Wayne Central High School and worked at Lincoln Life prior to marrying Clarence Burrow April 15, 1944. They lived in various locations in Europe and the United States prior to his retirement from the Air Force as a Master Sargent. Following his retirement in 1957, they returned to Fort Wayne, IN. After her retirement from Holsum bakery in Fort Wayne, she actively volunteered at a variety of organizations in Fort Wayne, including the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory (awarded 1996 Outstanding Conservateer of the Year). She was a long time active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne.

Helen enjoyed playing golf at Foster and McMillen parks, gardening, traveling, and volunteering.

Helen moved to Indianapolis, IN in 2007 and was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Avon, IN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence and her youngest son Jim.

Her surviving children are David (Joan) in Cincinnati and Sandra in Indianapolis.

Klaehn, Fahl, and Melton Funeral home are coordinating the arrangements.
