41, died peacefully in her Tampa, FL home on 30 October 2017. She was born on 18 November 1975, in South Caroline, on Shaw Air Force Base (AFB) to MSgt Charles Ware and Shun Ware. In 1994, Mary joined the United States Air Force. After graduating from basic training and her Air Force Technical training course, Mary was assigned to the 36th Transportation Squadron, at Anderson Air Force Base (AFB), located on the island of Guam.





After completing her assignment in Guam, Mary was assigned to the 90th Transportation Squadron on F. E. Warren AFB, in Cheyenne Wyoming. In 1997, Mary transitioned from active duty, to the Air Force Reserves and was assigned to Headquarters (HQ) United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), on MacDill AFB in Tampa FL., where she worked as an Administrative Support Specialist in the HQ Commandant’s Office until 2001.





Mary was dedicated, loyal, and proud to have served her country. She is survived and greatly missed by her husband, Theodore (Ted) Hobbs, a retired Army Master Sergeant, who she met while they were both assigned to HQ USSOCOM during their tours of duty; son, Dimitri; daughter, Athena; mother, Shun Ware; sister, Shuniffer, her husband Gary and their three kids, Johnathan, Matthew, and Sidney; stepson, Theodore, his wife Kim; three grandkids, Promise, Miracle, and Malaki, and to include a countless number of friends whom she thought of as family.





Mary’s memorial service will take place at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home located on 605 S. MacDill Ave. Tampa, FL 33609, on 14 November 2017, at 11:30 am. Her service will be officiated by Seminarian, Connor Penn of Christ the King, Catholic Church. Mary will be later laid to rest at the Bay Pines National Cemetery following her memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Mary Hobbs’ name.
