Mary Kathryn "Kaye" Fitzgerald (Van Buren) passed away on November 18, 2016 at the age of 73 years old at her home in Sparta, NJ.

She was born in Alton, IL on December 30, 1942, daughter of the late Paul Van Buren and her mother Loretta Van Buren, 95. She was a graduate of Marquette High School in Alton, IL, received her bachelor's degree from Loyola University in Chicago, IL and earned her master's degree in mathematics from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI.

During her teaching career, Kaye taught mathematics at Cardinal Stritch High School in Chicago, IL, Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hamburg, NJ, and Sussex County Community College in Newton, NJ. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed rooting for her beloved Yankees.

She is survived by her three sons Richard Paul Fitzgerald of Riverdale, MD, James Michael Fitzgerald of Denville, NJ, and Robert Edward Fitzgerald of North Arlington, NJ, and her grandson Lennon Thomas Fitzgerald of Denville, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Francis Fitzgerald, in 2007. She is also survived by three brothers, Robert, Richard, and Kenneth, and five sisters, Barbara, Martha, Patricia, Elizabeth, and Laura. Her brother, John Lawrence Van Buren, passed away in 2001.
