Mary Michael Stautz, 77, Casselton, ND died on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, surrounded by her family.

Mary Michael Stautz was born on July 13, 1939 in Bronxville, NY to Peter and Mildred (Cobey) DiLeo. Mary graduated from Point Loma High School in San Diego, CA. She met Wayne Stautz in 1971 and they were married in 1973. After moving to Santee, CA she worked as a solicitor supervisor for Purple Heart Veterans Thrift Store. In 1991, she and her family moved to Devils Lake, ND where she worked in customer service for the Ford dealership. She retired in 2004 and moved to Casselton due to medical reasons and to be closer to her sons.

Mary loved to cook, shop on the internet, travel, be outside and camp. Her biggest enjoyment though were her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wayne, her four sons: Peter Stautz, of Casselton, Christopher Gibbons, of West Fargo, ND, John Stautz, of Fargo, ND and Timothy (Crystal) Stautz, of Casselton; 15 grandchildren: Dustin Stautz, Peter Stautz II, Paula Parker, Shandy McGinley, Hayley Gibbons, Michael Gibbons, Christopher Gibbons, John Stautz, Kevin Stautz, Francis Saba, Anthony Stautz, Slayde Blotsky, Cai Blotsky, Jace Stautz and Ethon Toop; 10 great-grandchildren and her brothers: Norman (Ruth) DiLeo, of San Diego, CA and Anthony DiLeo, of Escondido, CA. Mary was preceded in death by hers and Wayne's parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 5 until 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, Casselton. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10 AM at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Casselton followed by burial at St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery.
