Mary Elizabeth Osina, 94 of El Campo, passed away on May 1, 2012. She was born on September 26, 1917 in Taiton to the late Peter John Merta, Sr. and Mary Koudela Merta. She was retired cafeteria assistant with El Campo ISD, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the KJZT Society.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years Charles Osina, Jr. of El Campo, sons Eugene Osina and wife Jo of Richmond, David Osina and wife Lynn of Clear Lake, Charles Osina, III and wife Patty of Houston, Greg Osina and wife Annette of Richmond, Jeff Osina and wife Kelly Jo of Louise, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters Betty Konvicka of El Campo, Stella Stewart of Pasadena and brother Pete Merta of Taiton. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Debra Osina and Darryl Osina, sisters Martha Kulcak, Lucille Mach, Lillian Janak and brother Frank Merta.
Visitation will begin at 12 pm (noon) on Thursday with a Parish and Catholic Daughter Rosary to be recited at 7 pm at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 4, 2012, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are C. J. Kulcak, A. J. Kulcak, Michael Osina, Zach Osina, Cody Osina, Trevor Osina, Mitch Stogner and Bob Felinski.
Memorials in her memory may be made to the St. Philip's Church Building Fund.
