Mary Frances De Andrade

Peacefully at her home in Oakland on February 15.

Mary was born December 26, 1914 in Madiera, Is., Portugal. She was a resident of Oakland for 91 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Joseph De Andrade in 1975. Mary is survived by her son Philip of San Francisco and her sisters, Stella, Elsie, and Vivian and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Her life was devoted to her family and friends.

Mary graduated from St. Patrick's School in Oakland in 1922 and was a member of St. Cyril's Parish in Oakland for 52 years and a member of the APUMEC for 75 years. She was an avid cook and loved to prepare dinners for family and friends. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting and hanging out with her dear friend Hazel Jardine and other girl friends at Portuguese celebrations in Hayward. She was always up for a ride to visit the girls or a trip to Reno.

The family is grateful to Manu and Bessie for their loving care in her last days.

The funeral procession will be leaving the mortuary Friday February 20, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. for a 12:15 Funeral Liturgy at St. Margaret Mary's Church in Oakland. The vigil service will be Thursday at the mortuary beginning at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will begin Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
