Maryann "Tari" Malon, 82 of Ooltewah, Tennessee passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and family on Thursday, May 4th, 2017. She was born in Stroudsburg, PA on April 26, 1935, daughter of the late James and Lillian Schultz. She graduated from Stroudsburg High School and Churchman Business College. One of her memorable High School experiences was playing the leading role as Cornelia Otis Skinner in the play, "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay". This love of live theatre followed her throughout her life. She was employed as a Secretary in the export division of American Can in Easton, PA and after marriage had worked at the National Bank of Commerce and Home Federal Savings and Loan in Norfolk, VA. She later worked as a hospital volunteer in Somers Point, N.J., before remaining at home to raise her loving family. She was a very compassionate person, always looking for the good in everyone. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren as they were growing up and giving them her undying love.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Cecilia Schultz and Helene Zukowski and brother James Schultz.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Alex; daughter, Jean M. VanDyck and husband Fred of Snellville, GA; son Scott A. Malon and wife Donna of Sharpsburg, GA; granddaughter, Alexandra VanDyck; three grandsons, Garrett VanDyck, Taylor Malon, Christian Malon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 7111 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN. Interment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.

The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN.
