MAX L. ANTHONY, 78, went home to the Lord Sunday, May 28, 2017. Born Nov. 4, 1938, in Marion, Ind., where he was raised with his brother and two sisters by his mother on the family farm. He entered the Air Force in 1956. He served eight years active duty in the states, Okinawa, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air National Guard after serving 37 years. His passion was flying and began building his own plane. Max was also a commercial Pilot, flight instructor, and flew charters as well as being a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was also a member of the fly in breakfast club. As a family, he loved traveling, camping, canoeing with close friends. He also enjoyed tennis and hockey. He attended Fellowship Missionary Church for more than 17 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Paula Jo; son, Christopher; granddaughters, Kayla Jo, McKenna, and Nikkole; great-granddaughter Londynn; brother, Dwight; sisters, Myrneth Scherba and Leah Snow; and his loving dog, Tebow.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jean.

Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017.

Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
