Maxine Meyer Gohn obituary
Maxine Mayer Gohn, 90, of John Knox Care Center, Lee’s Summit, MO., passed away Feb. 19, 2017. No services at her request.
Maxine was born near Blackburn, MO on July 7, 1926, daughter of Arthur and Ida Mae Tieman Meyer. She graduated from Malta Bend High School, attended Kansas City Business College. She was employed by TWA, Nelly Dion and Allstate Ins. Co., retiring in 1991. “Aunt Max” was a devoted Royals and Chiefs Fan. She was a former member of St. Peters United Church of Kansas City, MO, where she sang in the Chancel Choir for 20 years. She currently was a member of The Village Church of Lee’s Summit, MO.
On March 2, 1949, she married Corwin Samuel Gohn and they lived in Kansas City, MO, ten years before moving to Raytown, MO.
August 2003 she moved to John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit and was living in the John Know Care Center.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years Corwin Samuel Gohn and her son Corwin Arthur Gohn. She is survived by her granddaughter Michelle Marie Mertz and husband Charles, and great grandsons Erik Corwin Mertz and Christopher Allan Mertz of Standbury Park, Utah and the 30 nieces and nephews of the Gohn family who called her “Aunt Max”.
