Meghan S. McMurphy, 50, a resident of Winchester, NH and former resident of Keene, NH, passed away peacefully at the Applewood Rehabilitation Center in Winchester on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

She was born August 22, 1967 in Keene, NH the daughter of Charles and Claire (Cote) McMurphy. She was born the sixth of their children and was born with Downs Syndrome. Despite her challenges she made the most of life and maintained a positive, happy and compassionate spirit. She graduated from Keene High School in 1982.

She enjoyed working in food service at various locations in Keene. She also enjoyed swimming in Spofford Lake, riding roller coasters, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She was very proud of her nieces and nephews for their educational pursuits and her nephew's service to our Nation in the United States Army. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the Backstreet Boys. In her many travels, her favorite place to visit was Disney World, where she was able to see her favorite Princess, Cinderella.

She is survived by her mother: Claire McMurphy of Leeds, MA, sisters: Sarah McMurphy of Keene, Susan McMurphy of Long Branch, NJ, Marcia Bassett and her husband Timothy of Easthampton, MA, and Stacey Forand and her husband Richard of Naperville, IL, her brother: Marc McMurphy and his wife Michelle of Henniker, NH and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is predeceased by Father.

A Celebration of Meghan's Life will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene from 10am to 11:30am. There will be a Memorial Service at 11:30am at the funeral home followed by committal services in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene.

Meghan's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Applewood, Home Health Care Hospice and other care-givers who have helped to maintain her independence and quality of life throughout the past several years, especially Billie Joe Kirker, Nancy Dionne and Butch and Peggy Knox and family.
