Melvin L. Fuller age 89 formerly of Kearney and Franklin passed away on May 7, 2017 in Lincoln. He was born on December 23, 1927 in Gibbon, Nebraska to Melvin and Lora (Karsner) Fuller. He joined the Merchant Marines at age 16 during World War II. Later he served in the US Army during the Korean War. Melvin married Betty Young on March 3, 1951 in Kearney, Nebraska. He worked for Keenan’s Beverages and sold Coca Cola products for over 50 years. He retired and moved to Franklin, where he worked at the Rightway Grocery.



Melvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty L. of Lincoln; daughter, Jacqueline (Stuart) Wilsman of Franklin; sons, Gary (Kelly Kimberly) Fuller of Oakland, California; Larry (Kathy) Fuller of Gretna; grandchildren, Brett (Jennifer) Fuller of Omaha; Kyle (Emily) Fuller of Omaha; Tony (Carrie) Wilsman of Crete; Joseph Wilsman of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Avery, James, Juliette and Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arlie and sister and brother-in-law, Floyd and Edna Johnson.



Funeral Service: Friday, May 12, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.



Visitation: One hour prior to the service on Friday.



Interment with military honors: Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery



Memorials: May be directed to the Franklin United Church of Christ or Donor’s Choice.
