Mendy Ann Boyd-McDaniel, 41, of Beckley died unexpectedly Friday July 21, 2017.



Born January 7, 1976 in Beckley, WV she was the daughter of Patty Boyd and Ronnie of Prosperity WV.



Mendy was preceded in death to an Aunt Penny Arrington of Oak Hill, a grandmother Vilia Diehl of Crab Orchard & Grandfather Eugene Shelton of Summerlee.



Mendy graduated from WWHS in 1994, she afterward moved to NC to begin her journey in life and to impact many others along the way. She attended Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton studying for a degree in Social Work so she could fulfill her love to help others. Mendy held several jobs in NC in the factory industry & restaurants; she moved back to WV and was employed at WV Choice Home Health Care & lastly and recently the Kroger bakery/Deli at the Beckley Crossing.



Mendy was a friendly kind hearted person to anyone she met, glowing with a unique personality and a great sense of humor.



In addition to her parents, Mendy is survived by two children that she loved with all her heart. She was so proud of them & bragged continuously on; Son Camron Belcher sharing the same love for music and daughter Hollie McDaniel that shares Mendy’s same unique beauty, smartness and uniqueness, both of NC. IN addition she had the pleasure of being a step mother to ex-husband John McDaniel’s two children Nathan and Cory McDaniel in NC. Brother Greg “Zuki” Boyd and his wife Chastity & their two children, Nephew Tyler Boyd and Niece Lauren Boyd that she had a special mother like relationship with. Uncles Chris Shelton, Richard & Eddie Shelton. Aunts Kathy Styers, Donna Criss, Jewel Miller, Jenny Basham, Terri Ford, Connie Adkins & Donna Jordan. There are many additional family & friends that shared in the happy moments of Mendy’s life. One cousin in particular a cousin like sister that she was very close to, Cindy Mayes.



Mendy will be sadly missed by all; she always had a big smile and bright eyes that would light up a room, and could always bring a smile with her funny joking ways.



Funeral Service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Friday July 28, 2017 at 12:00PM with a one hour visitation prior to service time. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.



Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
