Michael (Mike) Anthony Scalzo, 65, passed away on November 20, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. Mike was born on December 27, 1951 in San Diego, CA to Francis "Frank" Paul and Ida May (Enge) Scalzo, Jr.

Mike grew up in Southern California and was the typical California surfer. He always had the coolest of cars like his 55 Chevy, his 56 Chevy and his 49 Ford truck. He later moved to Idaho and then Washington for a number of years before settling in Oklahoma. Mike worked for Tinker Air Force Base as a welder for many years finally retiring in 2015. Mike was friendly and most people loved that he made them laugh. He was always willing to lend a hand when anyone needed help. He loved riding his horses, camping and listening to Country music.

He was also quite handy at barbecuing and smoking ribs and meats for his family and friends. He was very talented and used that talent to build many things but was happiest creating wonderful cowboy themed furniture, lamps, and jewelry. Mike's family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Joe Ghata for his excellent care of Mike. We were comforted by Dr. Joe's kind, sensitive support for both his physical and spiritual well being.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his children, Kylie Nault (Aaron), Kristin Ames, Brandon Scalzo (Megan), Jennifer Scalzo; grandchildren, Remington Nault, Aspen Higginbotham, Tyler Higgins; siblings, Steve Scalzo (Danguole), Susan Scalzo; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
