HUBBARD Michael DeSantis, Sr., 110, died Thursday morning, December 3, 2009 at his home. He was born May 26, 1899 in Charlieroi, PA a son of Quinton and Angela Volpi DeSantis and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. DeSantis was a welder for Republic Steel for 38 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, the Knights of Columbus and the Adua Lodge. Michael enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards with the Hubbard Senior Citizens His wife, the former Mary Pasquarella, whom he married October 13, 1919, died August 9, 1993. He leaves two sons, Michael (Angela) DeSantis, Jr. of Niles and Anthony "Frenchy" (Dolly) DeSantis of Hubbard; three daughters, Alice Casey of Hubbard, Angela Fetchet of Youngstown and Phyllis (Robert) Laskovics of Bessemer, PA; a brother, John DeSantis of Akron; a sister, Rose Pasquarella of Hubbard; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Eunice Williams; two brothers, Louis and Dominic DeSantis; two sisters, Jenny Papa and Mary Campana and a great great grandson. Funeral services will be held Monday, 9:15 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church. Family and friends may call on Sunday, 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Senior Independence Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Rd., Canfield, OH 44406.
