Mila Slusher, 68, passed away on December 10, 2017 at Research Hospital. She was the partner of Tom LaFayette of 21 years. Born in Manila Philippines, she was the daughter of Nimfa Ortinero. She graduated from high school and then moved to the United States in 1975. She resided in Kansas City, Missouri until her death. She was a member of the VFW and an avid bowler belonging to many bowling leagues. She enjoyed sports and specifically the KC Chiefs and Royals. If there was a game being played, Mila had the game on the television or radio. She loved playing bingo with her mother, sister, and niece. She loved camping and going to the lake. Mila will be remembered for her giving heart and one of a kind personality. She loved traveling to Texas with Tom and her three dogs; Jayden, Bridgett, and Betsy. She loved her family and would be the first one to offer help when it was needed. She checked on her mother daily until her passing. Her family and Tom were her life. She is survived by Tom LaFayette, her mother Nimfa Ortinero, her brother Ruben Bautista, and her sister Sandy Dimino. Her niece Cathy Dimino, and great-niece Jacey Barlow. Her cousins Thik and Ramon. The visitation service will be held on Thursday December 14, 2017 at 5 – 6pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. The memorial service will commence at 6pm. At the conclusion of the memorial service, we will have a Celebration of Life at the VFW located at 5904 Crystal Ave Kansas City, MO 64129.
