Mildred Lucille Young, 95, of Arlington, Texas, went to heaven on August 02, 2017. She was born to the late Thomas Hamilton and Minnie Muella Counts Young, October 29, 1921 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The family relocated to Texas, living in Humble, Chico, Bridgeport, and Decatur.Mildred graduated from Decatur High School where she excelled in volleyball. She married Alvis Harold McClung from Bridgeport on July 3, 1939, and made their permanent home in Dallas/Oak Cliff. Three girls were born of this marriage. Mildred was a homemaker and took active roles in her church and girls’ schools, serving as a classroom mother and president of the PTA.When she became a single Mom in 1957, Mildred enrolled in Neilson’s Beauty College and went on to have a successful career as a hair dresser until her retirement in 1984. She married Troy McNabb, Sr., in 1965 and they relocated to Arlington in 1977. Together, they enjoyed ballroom and square dancing and playing “42. After Troy died in February 2000, Mildred became an avid Bridge player.In March 2015, Mildred moved to Town Hall Estates Arlington Nursing Home where she received loving care until her death.



Mildred is preceded in death by her two sisters and their husbands: Moscille and Paul Maxson, and Lois and Roy Coleman; son-in-law, Jim Redden.



She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Sandra and CL Hood from Little Elm, Linda and Randy Harris from Dallas, and Cynthia Redden from Fort Worth; Cousin JC Counts and wife Joyce of Virginia; nephews Kennon Maxson and wife Connie, Nathan Maxson and wife Phyllis, Rollin Coleman, and niece Nancy Coleman.
