MINNIE CHARLENE HALL COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Charlene Hall, age 85, of Bastrop, Louisiana will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Bonita Road Baptist Church in Bastrop with Bro. Casey Johnson officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in the Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, April 3rd, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Minnie Charlene Hall was born in Oak Ridge, Louisiana on December 12, 1932 to the late George Elec Gregory and Dovie White Gregory. She passed away April 1, 2018 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, Louisiana. Charlene married Barney Lee Hall in 1951 and together they enjoyed almost 48 years of marriage. They lived and raised their family in the Bonita Road Community. Charlene was a member of the Bonita Road Baptist Church, a graduate of Collinston High School where she was a member of the girls basketball team, and a retired Constable for Ward 7 of Morehouse Parish. Charlene is survived by her daughter, Janet Bancroft and her husband James and two grandsons, Randy Lee Hall and wife his Amanda, Elex Scott Hall all of Bastrop, Louisiana. Charlene, known as "G.G." is also survived by three beautiful great-granddaughters, Lexi Adkins, Shelbi Adkins, and Mackenzie Hall all of Bastrop. She is also survived by one brother, Louis Gregory and his wife Jerri of Poplarville, Mississippi and five sisters, Virginia Townsend of Tallulah, Louisiana, Gloria Jean Thurman, Catherine Self, and Brenda Riels all of Bastrop and Rita Nelson of Little Rock, Arkansas. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall is preceded in death by her husband, Barney, son and daughter in law, Billy Glenn Hall and Peggy McDonald Hall, and granddaughter, Chasity Adkins. Charlene was from a large family. She is also preceded in death by seven brothers, George Oliver Gregory and L.D. Gregory of Collinston, Louisiana, Robert Gregory of Rayville, Louisiana, James "Rawhide" Gregory of Waco, Texas, Alfred "Tallboy" Gregory of Bastrop, Louisiana, Ernest Gregory of Poplarville, Mississippi, and Edward "Hoss" Gregory of Swartz, Louisiana. Serving as pallbearers are Brad White, Danny Diel, Jr., Wes Gregory, Danny McGrew, Ronny White, and Rodney Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers are Venoy Kinnaird, Roy Riles, and W.L. Hopkins. The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Carter Cox, Jr. for his loyal services to our family.
