COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Miriam Brown Jeffers, 89, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.



Mrs. Jeffers died Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Born in Charleston, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Leon A. Brown and Mabel Tisdale Grayson. She was an Accounting Tech for Civil Service at Fort Jackson and later retired. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.



Surviving are her son, Charles E. Guy (Carol) of Bonifay, Fla.; daughters, Delores J. Reeves (Gary) of Lexington and Linda McNeill (Rev. Wayne) of Ridgeville, S.C.; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Maureen Martin; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Grayson, Harriott Grayson Brumett (Carl) and Cheryl Grayson.



She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, CSM Clarence Edward Jeffers; sister, Zada Jackson; and brothers, Cary T. Grayson, Robert L. Grayson and William H. Grayson.
