Miriam "Mimi" Calongne Knoepfler Hodges, a native of New Orleans and resident of Metairie, died peacefully on November 25, 2017, at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her parents Louise Briou and Marcel B. Calongne.

Mimi married the late Garner J. Knoepfler in 1950 and she is survived by their four children: Garner Jr. "Gary" (Sherri), Glenn (Tracey), Mark (Carolyn) and Mary Jean (Garry Egan). In addition to her four children, "Maw Maw" is survived by five grandchildren: Melanie, Brian, Eric, Brandon and Rebecca, and three great grandchildren: Alexis, Maddalena and Makayla.

After Garner died in 1984, Mimi married the late Louis N. Hodges in 1987. By her second marriage, Mimi is survived by two step children, Sylvia (Joe Gamboa), and Louis, Jr. (Leslie), as well as numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

She is also survived by nephews Robert Jr. "Bob" and Daniel "Dan" Calongne and nieces Susan Calongne Johnson, Kathy Calongne Gunn, Noel Knoepfler Banks, Nancy Knoepfler Phillips and Jan Knoepfler Rost as well as her dear cousins - the Reilly family.

Mimi was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Angela Merici in Metairie. She was a "Dominican Girl", having attended both Dominican High School and College. While her children were young, Mimi was a homemaker. In 1967 she went to work as a secretary at St. Aloysius High School. She continued to work for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at Brother Martin High School for a total of 18 years. After her retirement, she and Louis volunteered at the Ochsner Medical Center's main campus. Mimi belonged to and served as an officer in several organizations including the Knights of Columbus Ladies' Auxiliary in St. Dominic Parish, the Blue Goose Auxiliary, the St. Dominic Parents' Club and the Dominican High School Alumni Association.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mimi's life on Thursday, November 30, 2017, with visitation at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Drive, Metairie, LA 70002, beginning at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at noon. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
