Morris D. "Bud" Miller age 89 of Louisville, NE peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Louisville Care Center.
Bud was born on June 15, 1925 to George Henry and Emma Sylvia (Warren) Miller in Cedar Creek, NE. He was raised and schooled in Cedar Creek and attended Louisville High School. After high school, Bud enlisted in the US Navy. He served his country during WWII on the USS Threadfin, which was the first submarine to be in a Japanese Harbor. After serving in the Navy, Bud returned to Louisville and married Eileen Grace Schroeder on May 18, 1946 at the Parsonage in Louisville. Bud and Eileen made their home and raised their children in Cedar Creek until 1957, when they moved to Louisville. He had worked at Lyman Richey Sand and Gravel, Ash Grove Cement Company, Omaha Steel, and as a welder for the Fruehauf Corporation. Bud was a husband, father, grandfather, and a great grandfather.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365, Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 both of Plattsmouth and First United Methodist Church in Louisville.
Bud is survived by his son: Michael Miller and wife Janice of Louisville, NE, two daughters: Marshia Meisinger and husband Larry of La Vista, NE, Deborah Fontenot and husband Michiel of Porter, TX, ten grandchildren: Deana Walocha, Tiffanie Welte, Angela Peterson, Christopher Miller, Courtney Kruntorad, Brandon Meisinger, Kyle Peitzmeier, Patrick Miller, Michelle Conklin, Dayna Cox, seventeen great grandchildren: Gage Gauchat, Tate Gauchat, Logan Peterson, Reese Peterson, Brody Peterson, Vince Peterson, Samuel Walocha, Isabel Walocha, Kellie Peitzmeier, Kaitlyn Peitzmeier, Kristin Peitzmeier, Charlotte Meisinger, Landon Meisinger, Liam Kruntorad, Gracie Cox, Luke Cox, and Logan Conklin, two brothers: Wayne Miller and wife Judy of Cedar Creek, NE, Gene Miller of Anaheim, CA, sister: Patricia Black of Florida, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Emma Miller, brother: James Miller, sister: Thelma Baker, and wife: Eileen Miller.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 30, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Louisville with Pastor Bob Wynn officiating, Ricki Duffy as vocalist, and Donna Alberts as organist.
Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Roby Funeral Home.
The Pallbearers will be Christopher Miller, Brandon Meisinger, Kyle Peitzmeier, Patrick Miller, Kirk Peterson, and Matthew Kruntorad.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary "Ponch" Baker, Charles Funkhouser, Bob Larson, Chris McGrew, Wayne Miller, William Wegener, and Ralph Welte.
Final Resting Place will be at Glendale Cemetery in rural Louisville.
Military Rites will be conducted by Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 of Plattsmouth.
The family suggests memorials to Glendale Cemetery Association or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
