CHAPIN - A funeral service for Myrtle Ballentine Bull, 93, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.



Mrs. Bull died Saturday, May 6, 2017. Born in Ballentine, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Eusebius A. Ballentine and Jenny Boozer Ballentine. She met her husband of 48 years at a dance in the Fike Field House at Clemson College. She received her Bachelor’s degree at Winthrop College and worked as a chemist for General Electric. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and their Women’s Circle. An avid swimmer and Clemson fan, she loved being with her family, camping, and playing cards with her friends.



Surviving are her sons, James A. “Jim” Bull IV (Marilyn) and Michael M. “Mike” Bull (Laura), both of Chapin; four grandchildren, Jenny Dean (Jacob), Melissa Toole (Ryan), Brendan Bull, Bonnie Bull; and three great-grandsons, Wylie Dean, Harris Dean, and Keegan Toole.



She was predeceased by her husband, James A. Bull III and her siblings, Verta Ballentine Shealy, Eugene Ballentine, Rudolph Ballentine, Blanche Ballentine Derrick, and Bonnie Ballentine Stevenson.
