Naida Ione DeHass was born at home in Kansas City, Missouri on December 30, 1933 to Guy and Verna McComas. She was the youngest of 4 children. She went to Ashland Elementary school and graduated from East High School in 1952. She loved to play tennis in those early years. She married Fred DeHass June 17th, 1961. They lived most of their lives together in the Independence and Lee’s Summit, Missouri area except for 15 years from 1982 to 1997, where they resided in the San Francisco Bay area. Naida was very devoted to her husband Fred and they loved to travel and made many wonderful memories in their 56 years together. She was an executive secretary throughout 23 years, but mostly loved it when she was able to stay at home and be a homemaker. When living in Lee’s Summit, they attended Beautiful Savior Lutheran church where she really enjoyed going to Bible study, being a member of SCIA, was the secretary treasurer of Day Group LWML and most of all loved volunteering in the church office. She loved getting together with family for dinners out and then gathering together afterwards for lots of laughter and to play games. We all really loved her peanut butter fudge. She was preceded in death by her sister Aletha, her brother Gerald, her mother and father and her nephew John. She is survived by her wonderful husband Fred, her daughter Kimberly and her husband David, her two grandsons, Cameron Bone and Fletcher Bone and his wife Jillian, her step grand-daughter Jessica Zvacek and her family, and her sister Betty Pinkerton and nieces and nephews in Seattle, Washington, and nephews Don and Bill DeHass and his family. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
