Natale Polito passed away on August 17, 2017. He went to be with our Lord after a brief illness. He was 85 years old. Natale was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on September 28, 1931. He was the oldest of four siblings. He immigrated to the United States and became a citizen when he was 18 years old. In 1957, he married Lucia Polito (also from Reggio Calabria) and raised five wonderful kids in Spokane, Washington. In 1993 Natale and Lucia retired to California and settled in Carmel Valley.

Natale worked hard all his life to make a great life for his wife and kids and to make sure that all his children graduated from college. He succeeded with that dream and was very proud of all of his children and their accomplishments. His greatest joy was his family. There is no one that had more love for their family than Natale. He was beyond happy when he became a grandfather. Whenever he saw any of his grandchildren his face would light up like the sun.

Natale was a man of great faith, honesty and integrity. He was a simple man and enjoyed a good steak, a glass of red wine, Sunday spaghetti dinners, walks by the ocean, being outdoors and growing his own garden. But most especially, just being with his family. He was truly the “salt of the earth.”

Natale is predeceased in death by his son, Rocco Polito. He is survived by his wife Lucia of 60 years, his sons, Frank Polito and Nat Polito (Melissa), his daughters, Maria Montana (John) and Teresa Sullivan (Don). He will be greatly missed by all of us, most especially by his grandchildren, Lucia and Frank Montana, Dominic and Donnie Sullivan and Emma, John and Ben Polito. He will live in our hearts forever.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant . . . enter thou into the Joy of the Lord” Matthew 25:23
