Natalie Gannon Channell, 102, of Salisbury (formerly of Easton) died January 15, 2017 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in rural Easton, MD in Talbot County, she was the daughter of the late William Nathaniel Gannon and Rose Sharp Gannon. She worked at the Talbot County Clerk of the Court office from 1933 until 1941. She retired from the Talbot County Health Department in 1976 after 23 years of employment and moved to Salisbury. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. When Natalie became 101, her story was published in a book “If I Live To Be 100; The Wisdom of Centenarians” published by Rizzoli International Publications, Inc. She is survived by three children, Sherry C. Haddaway and her husband, Richard of Salisbury, MD, William N. Channell and his wife, Ginny of State College, PA, Rozann C. Hemphill and her husband, Donald of Bishopville, MD. She was predeceased by her son, John G. Channell in 1992 and her brother, Daniel J. Gannon in 1974. She has 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A visitation will be held at Bounds Funeral Home on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury, MD. The celebrant will be Father Edward Aigner. Interment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of the deceased to the Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary, Joseph House, Box 1755, Salisbury, MD 21802. The family of Natalie Channell would like to thank the Coastal Hospice care staff, especially Angie, Karen, Jeff, and two of her caregivers, Susan Stewart and her granddaughter, Natalie Hemphill.
