Nathan Vernon Caddy Jr., 73, of Cary, formerly of Elizabeth City NC passed away after a life of service to both his country and the state of North Carolina. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Nathan was married to Margaret Roberta Caddy for 48 years. He was a dedicated family man and provider. he was a man that any son or daughter would be proud to call "father". When it came to others he was always understanding and willing to help those in need.

Nathan was in the United States Army for 27 years having attained the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a veteran having fought in Vietnam. After his retirement from the military, Nathan was the Director of Communications of the 911 center in Greenville (Pitt County) for 14 years.

Nathan attended high school in Elizabeth City. He then received his undergraduate degree from Chaminade University, Hawaii in general studies. He then received his masters degree from Florida Institute of Technology in Logistics Management. He attended The Command and General Staff College in Kansas as a student and instructor.

Nathan is survived by his son , Robert Caddy, and wife, Tamara, granddaughter Cassidy Caddy, sisters Linda Cooper and Barbara White, brother, Charles Caddy.
