Nell Martin Bradley was born in Greenville, SC, on February 5, 1926 and passed away on January 5, 2017 in Hot Springs, AR. At the time of her passing, Nell had been a 45 year resident of Hot Springs and previously resided in Alma, AR. She graduated from high school in Greenville, SC, and continued her education at Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now known as Auburn University, where she was a member of Chi Omega and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition. After college, she worked in support of the WW II effort in various ways like many other young ladies of that time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Haskell H. Martin, Sr. and Carobel Cooley Martin, two brothers, Haskell H. Martin, Jr. and Pete Martin, her husband Henry J. Bradley, Jr. (Jim) and her son, Henry J. Bradley, III.

In her early career, she and her husband were owners, editors and publishers of weekly newspapers in Arizona and she continued and ended her newspaper career as the editor and publisher of the Alma News Herald in Alma, AR, spending countless hours on the Linotype and hand feeding printing material in the old letter-press printing equipment while tending to her children, including her youngest daughter in a play pen beside the Lynotype. Following a move to Hot Springs in 1971, she served for 25 years as the Director of Food Services for Levi Hospital. At Levi, she managed two different food services and was especially proud of her Orthodox Kosher food service. She and the success of her Kosher service were recognized in a feature by CNN. Nell was also a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs.

Nell is survived by one son, Merrill "Punky" Bradley and his wife Rhonda of Alma, AR, three daughters, Caroline Garrett and husband Rick of Rudy, AR, Cornelia Bradley of Hot Springs, AR, Faustina Bradley of Hot Springs, AR, one brother, Emory Martin and Mary of Greenwood, SC, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
