Nelson Lee Bailey, 76, of Hudson passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at his home following a period of declining health.
Nelson was born on July 10, 1946 in Burke County to the late Manuel Bailey and Ernestine Warlick Bailey. Nelson was a Deacon at Rutherford College First Baptist Church. He retired from Waldensian Bakeries after working there for 30 years. He was also a member of Lovelady Fire Department for 30 years where he later served on the Board of Trustees. Nelson was also a former member of the Rutherford College Water Corporation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Janice Bailey; two brothers, Larry and Phil Bailey, and sister Mollie Brittain; nephew, Doug Bailey; and sister-in-law, Betty Bailey.
Survivors include wife, Debbie McCall Bailey, of the home; daughters, Heather Waters (Kevin), of Rutherford College and Tammy Yambor (Shawn), of Rutherford College; brother, Danny Bailey; and grandchildren; Avery Waters (Albi), Gracie Waters, Maddi Miller, Chase Yambor, Peyton Yambor and Rylan McCall; brother and sister-in-law, George and Jill Talmon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Cryptside Service will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Tony Halford officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 12:00
PM to 1:00 PM at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
