Neville George Redway, 74, of Hartford, beloved husband for 49 years of Millicent Jenitta (Samuels) Redway, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, surrounded by his family at his home. Born in Keith, St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies on April 7, 1943, son of the late Reginald and Lucille (Hylton) Redway, he was raised in Jamaica and immigrated to the United States in 1997 and settled in Hartford. Neville worked for many years as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union, Local #43. While living in Jamaica, he served as a pastor at a United Pentecostal Church, and after moving to Hartford he attended Apostolic Fellowship of Hartford and more recently The Pentecostals of New Britain. The church and his family were always the center of his life. He served as a Sunday School teacher and on outreach ministries and was active in the overall life of the church. Besides his wife Millicent, he leaves three sons, Edward, Richard, and Christopher Redway all of Hartford; a daughter, Nicoleen Redway of Hartford; six brothers, Granville Redway and his wife Georgina of Hartford, Denford Redway and his wife Jennifer of Canada, Marvin Redway and his wife Barbara of Windsor, Easton Redway and his wife Hazel of Bloomfield, Delroy Redway and his wife Donna of East Hartford, and Beval Redway and his wife Lavern of Conyers, GA; two sisters, Marcia Redway-Bond and her husband Winston and Jillian Redway all of Canada; and many nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends on Friday, September 22, 10-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., at the Pentecostal Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 249 Newfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
