Nicholas David Chieppo, East Haven, CT, 76, passed away peacefully at his home by the water, surrounded by the family that he loved. Big Nick was born in New Haven CT, son of the late Thomas N. and Mary J. (Kalinska) Chieppo. He graduated from St. Mary's High School Class of 54, where he was the captain of the football team. He graduated as a Business Major from Providence College in 1961. A loving and devoted husband of 52 years to Jeanne A. (Carello) Chieppo. He will be dearly missed by her and their children: Nicholas D. Chieppo II and his wife Susan (Single) Chieppo of Madison, Kimberly J. Chieppo Andrews and her husband Scott Andrews of Killingworth, David N. Chieppo of Switzerland, and by his 5 grandchildren: Nicholas III, Cameron, Jamison, Haley and Michelle. A cherished husband and father, Nick was known for his love of life and laughter with an outgoing and generous spirit. He was truly a man of the sea who loved fishing, sailing and reading, and instilled those passions into all who knew him. Nick was a member of the United States Power Squadron for over 50 years and was a long-standing member of the Annex Young Men's Association. The memories of him will forever remain in our hearts.

Visitation hours will be on Wed. June 29th from 5-8pm at Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Thurs. June 30th at 10am in St. Bernadette's Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven, CT. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, W. Haven.
