Norma June (Smith) Spangler Shidler Silvers, age 84, of Bloomington, died Monday morning at Garden Villa in Bloomington. Born September 1, 1932 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Alva "Bud" and May Edna (Borton) Smith. Norma was a loving homemaker but formerly was an office secretary and bookkeeper. She was a former member of McDoel Baptist Church and then the First Baptist Church in Ellettsville.
Norma is survived by her two sons; Kevin Spangler, of Bloomington and Tony (Sarah) Spangler, of Indianapolis, her one daughter, Brenda (Ralph) Lind, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, her sister Marlene (Al) Walker, of Winter Park, Florida; four grandchildren, Ashley (Alec) Cobb, Amelia (Brian) Piccolino, Jacob Spangler and Kalob Spangler; two step-grandchildren, Kate Lind and Amanda (Andrew) Lind-Clouse; two great grandsons, Mason and Eli Piccolino and one step-great grandson, Samuel Lamar Lind-Clouse. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Covert Silvers.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. with Rev. Bill Breeden officiating. Private entombment will be a later time at the Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
