Norma Rea Tillis Roberson, affectionately known as “Fannie,” was born on October 27, 1932, in Marshall, Texas, to Lena and Jimmy Tillis. She was one of ten children. As a young child, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church, Marshall, Texas. She maintained an active membership throughout her growing years. She attended school in the Marshall Independent School District in her early years. She united in marriage to J.W. Roberson on December 20, 1964.

After moving to Dallas, Texas, she became a member of Salem Institutional Baptist Church, where she attended until her health declined.

After graduating from Texas Barber College, she worked at Graham Barber Shop and Square Deal Barber Shop for fifteen plus years and Veteran’s Hospital for approximately four years.

Norma loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She loved to sing, cook, shop, dress, travel, fish, visit with friends and spend time with her children and grandchildren.

On June 3, 2017, with her husband by her side, Norma Roberson entered in her eternal home and she was met with open arms by her parents, seven brothers, two sisters and one son.

Norma leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband of fifty-three years, J.W. Roberson, her beloved sons, James Wynn and Billy Wynn (Caroline); her beloved daughter, Michelle Roberson; four grandchildren; sixteen great- grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
