Norman was born on October 18, 1926 and passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017.

Norman was a resident of Mansfield, Ohio at the time of passing.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Norman was known to family and friends as "Stormin' Norman", "Pee Wee" and "Merlyn".

He volunteered in Veteran activities, VFW Post 9943 Past Commander, Joint Veterans Council, 10th District Chaplain, Past President and Commodore Loudonville Wildlife Conservation Club, member of Bellville Masonic Lodge 169, Board of Directors for Empire Reeves Credit Union, and active member of First Church of the Brethren. Calling hours will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Vaughn Loose officiating. Burial will be in Bellville Cemetery with full military honors.
