On January 30th, 1973, Nutisla Spruill was born to the proud parents of Pink Turner Jr. and Mary Ann Turner in Dallas, TX. She attended W.W. Bushman Elementary, Sarah Zumwalt Middle School Walter and graduated from Masco Smith High School in 1991. After High School, she had her beautiful daughter Brittany Turner and loving son Eugene Rembert who she dedicated her life raising. In 2007, she married the love of her life Ricky Spruill and they enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren.

While working at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, giving 8 years of service in Administration, she attended Everest College where she got her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice; Not only did she achieve her dream of obtaining her degree, she graduated with honors and did so battling her illness going in and out of the hospital. Showing her family and friends there is nothing you can’t do when you put God and your mind to it. Several years after graduating she started working at Azalea Orthopedics, where she enjoyed helping others.

She overcame many battles in life, in 2003 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and went into remission in 2005. She dealt with spinal problems from scoliosis and on June 4th, 2014 her doctors confirmed she had Lupus. In 2016, Nutisla started her organizations, F.L.Y. ButterFLIES Support Group to help others suffering from Lupus, domestic violence and cancer; G.L.I.T.S. (God’s Ladies in Total Submission) to support women in their spiritual walk. Her love for others also allowed her to overcome her biggest fear of public speaking when she spoke at the 2nd Annual SWAGS Cancer Walk to share her story of survival and to encourage others.

Nutisla enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to dance, shop, listen Keith Sweat, write and most of all giving aid to others who were in need; whether it was an encouraging word, a hug, kiss, money, discipline or just sharing her story, she truly loved others.
