Ometa Claypole, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, with her family by her side in Cartersville, GA.
Ometa was born on June 18, 1961 in Harrisonburg, VA, daughter of the late John and Faye St. George.
She attended Whiteville High School in Whiteville, NC. She married William Claypole on June 18, 1981, and had two children. After being a stay-at-home mother for a number of years, she found her calling, and in 2005 graduated from nursing school. For the past 12 years, it was as a nurse that she found great joy and generous love in caring for her patients and ministering daily to both patients and co-workers.She loved Jesus and was an active member of Vintage 242 Church in Dallas, GA. She enjoyed life to the fullest everyday, her favorite activities were relaxing and playing on the beach, tennis, board games, and spending time with family and friends.
She had tremendous love for and is survived by her husband, William Claypole; her children and their spouses, William and Holly Claypole and Timothy and Jodi Claypole; siblings, Daniel St. George, Barbara Mayes, Edward St. George; several nieces and nephews; and so many special friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 9th of July, 2017 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. James Black and Pastor Steve Hambrick officiating.
The family cordially invites family and friends for refreshments immediately following the service at Owen Funeral Home.
