LOUIE – Oye, 85, of Clifton, formerly of Newark and Elizabeth, died January 6, 2009. Born in Toishan, Canton, China and immigrated to the USA in 1939. A World War II veteran in Company A Engineer Battalion of the Army of the United States who fought in Europe and Africa until 1945. Worked in a Chinese laundry, waiter and taxi cab driver to support his family until retirement. Proud father to Howard Louie of California, Kem Louie of Clifton, Frank Louie of Rahway, Susan Louie of Clifton and Leon Louie of California. He is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Michael, Matthew, Laurel, Abby, Lilli, Amy, Suzy, Karissa and Keriann and great grandson, Justin.
A private ceremony will be held at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ. If you wish, tribute donations in lieu of flowers are to be sent in memory of Oye Louie to: St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Foundation, 703 Main St., Paterson, NJ 07510.
